At Orbital Net, we believe in the power of connection. And that connection goes far beyond the infrastructure we provide! Throughout the year, we weave a web of kindness in our communities by partnering with incredible charities.
We are honoured to be a champion for our communities across the UK, whether spreading holiday cheer or supporting a national cause. From Kent’s vibrant neighborhoods to all corners of the country, we’re committed to making a difference where we can.
Below are just a few of the amazing initiatives we’ve been involved with.
Generosity is at our core
The Giving Tree
During the holidays, our office blooms with a special kind of tree: the Giving Tree. It’s adorned with tags, each holding a wish from a local charity. Staff pick a tag, buy the gift, and together we bring a little holiday magic to those who need it most. This event is a reminder that small gestures of kindness can grow into something truly heartwarming.
Our most recent Giving Tree showered love on two local charities. The Canterbury Umbrella Centre, supporting those with mental health challenges, received gifts for their 150-guest Christmas party. Rhodes Minnis Cat Sanctuary, caring for homeless felines, received a much-needed supply of cat food and treats.

“At the Rhodes Minnis Cat Sanctuary, we accept cats regardless of age or behavioural problems. We are reliant totally on donations for everything, including cat food. This generous donation will go a long way towards feeding our resident animals over the Christmas period and beyond, as some of our cats will never find homes and will live out their days with us. Our thanks go out to Orbital Net for this generous gift“

Supporting the circus with a purpose
Circus Starr
For over five years, Orbital Net has proudly supported Circus Starr, a local charity hero bringing joy to vulnerable children and those with disabilities. These children often miss out on live performances, but Circus Starr’s inclusive shows change that. Our annual £1,000 donation helps bring 50 smiling faces to the Canterbury event, proving that even small acts can create big magic in our community.

Laughter is the best medicine
Comic Relief
Red noses, roaring laughter – we couldn’t resist joining the fun and supporting this fantastic cause. Staff don their brightest red noses, proving that a little silliness can go a long way for a serious cause. Comic Relief funds amazing projects that change lives, both here in the UK and around the world. So next time you see a red nose, remember the laughter (and the good it does)!

Bringing cheer
Christmas Jumper Day
Every year we get decked out in our most dazzling holiday sweaters for Christmas Jumper Day (think flashing lights and singing reindeer!), to raise funds for Save the Children. It always turns out to be a great day filled with festive cheer and our collective effort to make the world a brighter place, one woolly jumper at a time.
Charity donations make a very real difference, whether you donate through Red Nose Day, Sport Relief or to Comic Relief at any other time of year.

Stirring up support
Worlds Biggest Coffee Morning
Every year we join the World’s Biggest Charity Coffee Morning, and this year was no exception, as we brewed up a storm for MacMillan Cancer Support. A huge thank you to our amazing staff who whipped up delicious treats (and braved the early morning!). Together, we surpassed our previous year’s fundraising goal, proving that a little caffeine and kindness can go a long way in supporting a fantastic cause.
